What motivates you every day?
My kids.
If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?
Cat-to-human translation. I would give almost anything to know what my cat is actually trying to tell me at 3am.
What is a career "low point" that actually set you up for success?
When I left retail management to start over in the nonprofit world. It was humbling — I went from having systems and seniority figured out to feeling like a total beginner again. But that reset taught me real resilience: how to adapt fast, stay patient through uncertainty, and start over without losing momentum.
What piece of advice would you give your younger self?
Take more chances. What feels like starting over is often the beginning of something better.
What's a fun fact about yourself?
My kids and I were in a Baby Einstein commercial that aired nationally for 18 months.
